Specialty Masking

Specialty Masking Materials for Unique Challenges

When standard tapes and plugs don't quite fit, our collection of specialty masking materials provides the versatility you need. Silicone sheets can be cut on-site to serve as high-temperature gaskets or protective pads for large, irregular surfaces. Silicone tubes are perfect for sliding over long threaded rods or masking the outer diameter of pipes. Silicone rope is an excellent solution for pressing into long grooves, keyways, or irregularly shaped channels where a standard plug won't fit. All these products share the same high-temperature resistance (up to 250°C) and excellent silicone rubber properties as our moulded parts.

Versatile Applications in Surface Finishing

These essential masking materials adapt to a wide range of industry-specific applications. In powder coating, silicone tubes effectively protect long shafts while silicone sheets can be used to cover entire flange faces. In anodizing and electroplating, the chemical inertness of silicone rope ensures deep grooves remain free of acid deposits. For complex geometries, bulk silicone materials allow your masking team to implement effective solutions quickly.

Expanding Your Masking Capabilities

Bulk silicone materials are the perfect complement to your primary masking inventory. Use them alongside our standard Silicone Plugs and Silicone Caps for comprehensive part protection. For masking requirements that need adhesive backing, explore our Masking Tapes. If you find yourself repeatedly cutting silicone sheets or tubes to the same dimensions, it is worth consulting our Custom Solutions team, who can develop a dedicated moulded part or die-cut for you.
